Lady Business at Sacramento Comedy Spot
Headlines September 18 For One Night Only!
“Lady Business,” the name of the newest, and to our knowledge only, all-female improv troupe in the Sacramento area is quite the misnomer. These six very funny girls certainly aren’t “ladies” in the conservative, Emily Post kind of way.
Blame Society for Chad Vadar
Within the vast black hole of the internet, one certainty that’s always…uh…certain, is that anyone with a camera and an the ability to pound the letters y-o-u-t-u-b-e on a keyboard, will eventually take a shot at making the world laugh. Sometimes they’ll hit comedy gold; other times, they’ll just hit someone in the balls or botch a back flip off of a Coke machine.
Jamie Kennedy – Heckler by Bryan Yang
This movie has been out for about a year but I watched it recently on SHOWTIME. This review by Brian Yang is a little “critical” of the movie, yet those who know me know how much I hate hecklers, mean spirited critics and self professed “experts”. Read Brian’s review, but I encourage you to rent the DVD if you are a true comedy fan.
Doug Benson – Best Weed Ever
In what seems to be most people’s opinion, pot is generally portrayed as a drug that slows things down. It takes you to a place of ease, a place where a slight interest in movies and video games are transformed from mildly interesting entertainment options, into daily Dorito fueled routines. A place where things like jobs, brain cells and responsibilities just seem to fall to the wayside.
We're Getting random with Maria Bamford
A Sacramento Comedy Interview
SacComedy: I understand you have two pugs. Bert and Blossom. Is that true? If so, what are their names attributed to?
Maria: Yes. It is true. Blossom was named for the Power Puff (?) girls by my nephew, George. Bert was named in order to save him from being called “Colby”- which is not his name at all.
An Interview with Kate Clinton
A Sacramento Comedy Interview
Thirty years is a long time to work in any industry, especially the entertainment industry. You’ve got so many variables to sift through. Your own endurance, your world view, the world’s view of you, economic booms, recessions, MySpace, Facebook, Kanye West and the occasional 4 to 8 year change political power. Three decades worth of trends and regurgitated trends are enough to make you crazy or just plain forget that is was a trend in the first place.
All About Walken… What?
Say what? I got an email this morning from a man named Patrick O’Sullivan that said: “Come see our show, “All About Walken” where 7 male and female Christopher Walken impersonators take you through the life and career of the man and his place in pop culture. One night only at The Guild Theater September [...]

World's Greatest Dad with Robin Williams
Opening September 11 at the Crest Theater.
A thoughtful but outrageous comedy from Bobcat Goldthwait, WORLD’S GREATEST DAD is a story about a man that learns the things you want most may not be the things that make you happy, and that being lonely is not necessarily the same as being alone.
