A stand-up comedian was gravely injured in the tragic shootout that happened during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado Friday.
LaughSpin reports that Caleb Medley was struck in the face and as a result lost his right eye, has suffered some brain damage and is currently in a medical induced coma. Medley is an up-and-comer in the Denver comedy scene. The night of the shooting he was a contestant in Denver’s largest comedy contest and was set to advance to the next round.
According to Medley’s website he attended the premier with his pregnant wife as a final treat before they “officially” became parents as their son was due on July 22. The wife and unborn son both made it out uninjured.
If you would like to send a donation, a get well message or both, you can do so at Medley’s official website.
