Comedian Tom Cotter Makes Waves on ‘America’s Got Talent’

I’ve seen my fair share of acts on America’s Got Talent, and I know being a comic is tough business, but Tom Cotter makes it look easy as he slides through to the next round.
A success like Cotter’s is not unheard of. (Melissa Villasenor made the semi-finals last year; Doogie Horner & Chips Cooney were only quarter-finalists the year before that). It makes sense seeing how it’s difficult to captivate a crowd with pyromaniacs and child opera singers.
Acts are supposed to run as long as 90 seconds, which doesn’t give much time for the performers to connect with the audience. Despite the time constraint,Cotter has done just that by getting voted into the final round of the NBC’s talent show. Cotter delivers quick, concise, and well-written jokes, which is three times as many than a regular comedian would do in the same time frame.
In the semi-finals, Cotter seemed to have deviated from his regular joke-telling and took a few risks. Sharon had this to say: “I liked your material tonight. It was slightly more edgy; and I’m dirty. And I like it to be really, really, really dirty. It was great. “

If anyone deserves to be in the finals of AGT, it’s definitely Tom Cotter! I was pretty behind in the eliminations of this show, so I just caught up with them earlier today. I am thrilled to see that he took one of the spots! Every time I’ve seen him he’s had me cracking up, so I definitely feel like he is one of the stronger contestants on the show. I was very impressed with how he decided to do his act as well, he must have tons of material in his head to have Howie pick out of so many topics and deliver jokes like nothing. My coworkers and I have a bet going on about him too, and I’m looking forward to collecting my earning when he takes home the entire show! I can’t wait to see what he has in store next!
Homophobic jokes suck. Tom Cotter is NOT funny. He stinks. So glad he LOST!!!
