‘Community’ Dubbed Most Murderous Comedy on TV

At this year’s Comic Con, the producers and stars of NBC’s sitcom Community revealed some startling revelations.

Since Dan Harmon‘s firing, the future of the show has been quite uncertain. The new show runners, formerly of ABC’s Happy Endings, David Guarascio and Moses Port, begin the panel by abating the audience’s fear that the show will lose its magic. Guarascio explains, “The only thing we care about is keeping it this weird, wonderful gem that it’s always been and that’s just not going to change.”

When it comes to the characters, each actor gave a small recap of their respective alter-ego’s development this season. Joel McHale reminds the audience that he killed Pierce’s (Chevy Chase) father in Season Three. Along with Mr. Hawthorne the cast lamented the deaths of several characters including the Glee Club, John Goodman and Starburns (maybe). This body count, along with an exploding meth lab, earns the show the title of “Most Murderous Comedy on TV.”

Yvette Nicole Brown and Gillian Jacobs kindly thanked the audience for their support, reinforcing Community‘s reputation for loving its fans.

The show runners left the audience with a taste of what is to come: some creative animation, a potential graduation after this season and possibly extending the series without every member of the group.

Look out for the Community Season 3 DVD on August 14, or as I call it, an excuse to eat stuffed crust pizza in bed all weekend.
