Facebook’s New Timeline Compared to STD and Fred Armisen’s ‘Be Serious for 30 Seconds’

You probably have it by now and most likely didn’t want it. The best thing to do is just embrace it and accept that it’s probably not going away. Oh, you thought I was talking about some STD? No, just Facebook’s new Timeline feature which has not been well-received by members of the social networking site.
A new short called “I Have Timeline” pokes fun at the negative response to the feature by comparing it to catching an STD. It parodies a commercial for Valtrex, which is a drug used to help treat genital herpes.
I guess they have a point. If we can’t get rid of the darn thing, we might as well find a way of dealing with it.
Can you be serious for 30 seconds? Fred Armisen of Saturday Night Live has started a new project on YouTube called Be Serious for 30 Seconds in which users are encouraged to send in a video of themselves being serious. While it sounds simple there are many rules to follow.
- Rule 1: It has to be serious, no comedy whatsoever
- Rule 2: It has to be 30 seconds or less
- Rule 3: No more than two people in it
- Rule 4: At least one five second dramatic pause
- Rule 5: At least one cutaway to an object
- Rule 6: Do your best acting
- Rule 7: It needs to have a door slamming
