Gary Fields Still Spreading Joy to Locals

Gary Fields is in the business of humor. But making people laugh is not nearly as difficult as making them boo, he said.
He’s OK with that.
“In fact, I take pleasures sometimes if they boo,” said the 64-year-old. “If it’s funny to me, and I’ll actually tell them up front, boos only make me stronger.”
Fields does not limit himself to comedy. This man truly has a passion for entertainment. He has put on live music shows, DJ’d more than 400 weddings, owned a music agency and rides motorcycles. But for more than 40 years, he has been putting comedy at the top of his list.
Apart from putting on amazing shows, he also coordinates them in FireKeepers Casino’s Kabaret.
“I’m just a storyteller,” Fields said. “I tell stories and jokes. I can’t remember what I did yesterday but I can remember almost every joke I’ve ever told. Even back when I was a little kid, I still know those jokes.”
Comedy has always been a big part of Fields’ life. Being one of nine siblings, Gary has always found himself in an amusing environment filled with practical jokes.
“Our main goal in life was picking on each other,” he said.
What’s even more commendable of this remarkable fellow is that he is a war veteran. Fields served in the Marine Corps for nearly three years, including a 13-month deployment in Vietnam.
Gary Fields really is everything! A DJ, brother, father, comedian, entrepreneur, and an honorable veteran. My hat goes off to you!
