Jerry Lewis Agrees To Remake His Comedy Movies

A comedian, writer, actor, producer, director and singer Jerry Lewis is a living legend. Best known for his slapstick humor and zany antics, he has set his bar high for today’s entertainment industry. Paired up with Dean Martin, Lewis reined the world of comedy for quite some time, and then flew solo through a string of successful movies.

Artificial Intelligence Entertainment and Social Capital Films have signed a deal with Lewis to remake three of his most winning films, reports Variety. The companies obtained remake rights to “The Bellboy,” “Cinderfella” and “The Family Jewels.”

Christopher Tuffin, John Baca and George Paige will produce the films, and Lewis will serve as co-executive producer.

“What we’re aiming to do is combine the spirit of the originals with a modern sensibility,” said Tuffin in a recent interview.

“The Bellboy” is a 1960 comedy that shows Lewis as Stanly the bellboy in various ridiculous situations.

“Cinderfella” is a 1960 comedy version of a classic fairy tale with some of the roles reversed. Lewis plays Fella, a young man, whose step-family used him as a butler.

“The Family Jewels” is a 1965 comedy about a young heiress who must choose among her six uncles to be her new “daddy.” Lewis plays all six uncles and a family chauffeur, who takes the girl to see all of her uncles.
