Jim Norton’s ‘Please Be Offended’ Premieres on EPIX June 30

Please Be Offended is comedian Jim Norton’s newest comedy special and EPIX will release its first showing on June 30 at 10 p.m. EST.

On its website, EPIX says that Norton is, “going after jaw-dropping laughs not intended for the faint of heart.” Throughout the hour of stand-up, Norton will be targeting top celebrities and average Joe’s.The title of Norton’s newest special suites his comedic style very well. Norton said that he is funnier when he is miserable (like when he is single), but is learning that you do not have to be miserable to be funny.

“I think it helps to be dysfunctional,” Norton said. “Every comic that I know is fucked up. They’re either sex addicts, drug addicts, alcoholics, gamblers, or OCD. I don’t know one emotionally healthy stand-up.”

Norton also said that if he bombs at a show, he’s not leaving feeling bad about himself because everyone is going to feel bad about themselves and everyone is going down with him.

It seems to me that Norton will be joking about everyday things that piss us off. Will anyone really be offended? Get over it!
