Jon Stewart Mocks Romney over Health Care Comments

Tuesday night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart mocked Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.  Stewart named the segment “Barack Obama is the Luckiest Dude on the Planet” because Romney appears to be losing intelligence as the election draws closer.

When addressing the issue of healthcare during the campaign, Romney has stated numerous times that people who do not have healthcare actually do have health care because they can be picked up by an ambulance and taken to the emergency room to receive “free” care.  Stewart mocked Romney for making this statement more than once.

“The typical incumbent president would be at an enormous disadvantage unless…” Stewart joked.  “Unless the incumbent president is running against the guy who appeared to suggest that we don’t need a new health care plan for uninsured Americans because we have emergency rooms.”

Stewart showed three different clips where Romney stated this at different campaign events.  Romney even went as far as saying that uninsured Americans have no responsibility in paying the bills from an emergency room visit.

“The uninsured being cared for in emergency rooms is irresponsible and socialist, and I’m totally cool with that,” Stewart mocked when summing up Romney’s statements.

Stewart made a mockery of Romney and came to the conclusion that he “gets dumber as the election gets closer”.

What do you think? Is Jon Stewart taking too much of a big leap or is Romney really getting dumber?
