Kim Kardashian the Komedian?

Now I know the first thing you think of when you hear the name Kim Kardashian is “sitcom star,” so it should come as no shock that she and Ryan Seacrest are looking to develop and produce a half hour sitcom.

A source is quoted as saying, “Kim wants to move beyond reality TV and become a comedy actress. She really wants to be the next Sofia Vergara.”

This would follow the well traversed path to stardom that starts with being born rich, making a sextape and becoming best friends with Ryan Seacrest. Kim Kardashian, Sofia Vergara, how could I not make the connection?

To be fair the two are actually quite similar. I can think of at least two big, massive presumably soft reasons right off the top of my head.

“Acting is something she wants to do just for her,” another source is cited as saying. “Kim wants to do something that wouldn’t involve her sisters.”

A lot of people probably share that last sentiment. As for recent credits, Kim made a cameo appearance on 30 Rock last week as herself and also appeared briefly in ABC’s Last Man Standing. She is set to play a role in the upcoming Tyler Perry movie Marriage Counselor.

So, I guess there’s just one question left unanswered. Can we please have Ray J do the title music?
