Mike Birbiglia’s “Sleepwalk With Me” Releases April 19

Mike Birbiglia has recently been very successful off-Broadway. He teamed up in 2009 with Broadway legend Nathan Lane and director Seth Parrish to create his one-man show, Sleepwalk With Me.

Sleepwalk With Me follows the comic’s memoir as he deals with the life-threatening disorder of sleepwalking. According to PRNewsWire.com, “It’s a story of heartbreak and denial, of incidents and escalating accidents that culminate with a death-defying leap. On the “Sleepwalk With Me Live!” album, Birbiglia invites listeners to take this leap with him.”

The show has won much acclaim since it’s debut including: The Nightlife Award for Outstanding Engagement by a Comedian and Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, and Outer Critics’ Circle nominations as Best Solo Show. The New York Times has called Birbiglia’s Off-Broadway hit “simply perfect” and “about more than it’s about.”

Birbiglia is currently performing his new show Mike Birbiglia’s My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend to sold-out audiences at The Barrow Theater in New York City. This play focuses on  Birbiglia’s romantic blunders as an adult. He has had a few Comedy Central Specials and released several Best-selling albums. Sleepwalk With Me Live! will be released April 19th 2011.
