When it often seems like the grass is greener on the other side, it is not the case with Alex Borstein and Fox television network.
Borstein, who is the voice over housewife Lois on “Family Guy” has signed a deal with 20th Century Fox TV to develop, write and executive produce two comedy projects: one animated, and the other is a live action comedy.
“I would like to do a female-centric animated show that doesn’t really exist on Fox; I think it would be really cool to have an animated show there that has some ovary power,” said Borstein .
Her 13- year old relationship with Fox TV produced an unforgettable Miss Swan that we all adored and laughed at on “Mad TV.”
Studio chairman Gary Newman doesn’t want to shop outside of the network and is pleased with his choice. He describes Borstein as a remarkably gifted person, whose dark, edgy and witty humor would make her the center of the show.
“What I love about her is that she brings a persona and an attitude,” said Newman.
The upcoming projects are bound to be a success with such a charismatic persona as Borstein, who didn’t think she was busy enough and added a consulting producer on Showtime soon-to-be series “Shameless” to her schedule.
