For the past week media outlets have been all over Daniel Tosh’s controversial stand-up incident where he joked that rape humor is always funny.
When a female audience member shouted out that isn’t always the case, her and Tosh had a back and forth before the woman decided to leave.
Upon her exit, Tosh said, “Wouldn’t it be funny if that girl got raped by like, 5 guys right now? Like right now? What if a bunch of guys just raped her…’” The woman then wrote on her blog about what happened, which you can read here. Tosh tweeted a semi-apology acknowledging the incident.
Now fellow comedian Patton Oswalt has given his take on the controversy, saying, “ Obviously, I don’t agree with what he said, and I don’t agree with how he said it, but I think it’s very dangerous to create an atmosphere where people can’t fuck up.”
Oswalt spoke with Entertainment Weekly mostly about Comic Con while the comedian was spending time in San Diego.

“People just try to yell things out of existence and vilify people who are saying and doing things they don’t like,” Oswalt added. “The fact that there’s been all this arguing back and forth…there’s not a lot of other countries where this gigantic discussion like this could happen.”
