Comedian and actor Russell Brand keeps snatching hunk roles right and left. If he is not whisking away the beautiful Sarah in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, then he is charming his way as a lovable drunk in Arthur.
This time, Brand will star in and produce The President Stole My Girlfriend, a comedy project Warner Bros. bought from writer Matt Portenoy. It will mark the major sale for the writer.
“In this movie, the president steals the girlfriend of a sexy hippie—me, obviously,” Brand told The Hollywood Reporter. “It was inspired by the night I naively invited [Warners president] Jeff Robinov for dinner.”
Nik Linnen, a partner with Brand and his Branded Films, will produce the movie alongside the leading man. This will be the first project set up by Brand and his recently-formed Warners-based banner.
Brand is also going to appear in New Line’s adaptation of Rock Of Ages with Julianne Hough, directed by Juno writer Diablo Cody.
