The comedic actress Brett Butler, famously known for her stand-up and starring role in the ABC’s Grace Under Fire, will unite with the amazing line-up for Yakov Presents STAND UP FOR JOPLIN.
The event’s mission is to gather the stand-up community together and help families who were disturbed and disrupted by the May 22nd tornado which killed 159 people and injured nearly 900 others.
The show will be hosted by Yakov Smirnoff and will feature an excess of worthy comedians. Some that have already been announced to perform are Bill Chott (The Ringer, Wizards of Waverly Place), David Koechner (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and The Office) and Michael Jr. (The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live).
Yakov Presents STAND UP FOR JOPLIN will begin on Tuesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. at MSSU’s Taylor Performing Arts Center
By texting, calling the designated toll free numbers, or donating online at www.RebuildJoplin.org, viewers will have the opportunity to make financial pledges throughout the telecast. The best part of the entire performance is that the residents of Joplin don’t have to pay a cent. They’ll be able to take a break from the past rough couple of weeks and have a good laugh.
