‘Think Like a Man’ is a Romantic Comedy with a Different Point of View

Let’s play the game of, “Guess the Movie Genre.” Girl meets boy. Girl falls in love with boy but obstacles surface between them. Add a little comedy twist to it, and they live happily ever after. If you guessed romantic comedy then you are correct!
Romantic comedies are loved by many, and by many I’m referring to women, because more often than not we are always guaranteed a happy ending. But what if I told you that there’s a movie coming to a theater near you that offers a completely different mindset than what we’re used to seeing in movies. Comedian Kevin Hart says that his new movie Think Like a Man breaks the usual norms of romantic comedies.
“It’s a different ballgame,” Hart says. “For the first time, a romantic comedy is being told from a male’s point of view, which is huge. It’s always been done the opposite way.” The film is inspired by comedian Steve Harvey’s and his new book titled Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.
Hart plays the role of a newly divorced man who has become bitter towards women and relationships. “He’s in a place mentally where he despises women,” Hart says. “He just got a divorce and he’s like, ‘I’m not going to deal with this anymore, no more relationships.’ He wants to deal with himself and get the guys on his page by themselves.”
The movies co-stars include: Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Lewis, Morris Chestnut, Michael Ealy and Meagan Good.
Think Like a Man opens April 20.
